This is an interesting mug. People can get quite fussy about the milkiness of their tea and this mug has a several colours around the rim which you can use as a guide for putting in milk and matching the colour. The options are Milky, Classic British, Builder’s Brew and Just Tea. I think I’d fall into the Classic British camp!

Ok, I don’t think we use the term black board any more, but this handy mug even comes with a piece of chalk so you can write out your explicit instructions as to how you like your tea! Without wanting to be too literal, it would probably be a perfect gift for a teacher!
Available now from Heals.co.uk for £5

I just got back from a short trip to France, having gone from Ebbsfleet to Paris, and of course picked up a Starbucks Paris mug as a souvenir from my travels. I didn’t actually have a Starbucks out there though as I kind of think its good to patronise the more traditional cafes and coffee shops.

The Daily Politics Mug is an item that is desired by many, and possessed by only a few, for it is only available to winners of a weekly competition on the BBC’s Daily Politics. Andrew Neil, possibly TV’s best host, gives it away to one lucky viewer who can “guess the year” and really bigs up the mug in his unique style. The mug almost entered into Daytime TV history when the BBC put a halt to all competitions following the phone in scandals that hit them, but the mug is available again on a Wednesday, albeit with a slew of terms and conditions.
If you want a Daily Politics mug, tune into the Daily Politics on BBC2 Wednesdays from 11.30 onwards.

To celebrate my new car - a rather lovely Volvo C30 - I decided to get myself a matching Volvo mug. You can get them from the Volvo Owners Club in the UK. They’re pretty cheap and made from a durable feeling plastic.

I really the stackable mugs that Marks and Spencer are selling at the moment. They have about three different product lines, but today I’m just going to look at one: the Flower Spot Stacking Mugs. For £9.50, you get 4 mugs brightly coloured mugs which stack upon each other in the supplied stand - a great space saving idea. I think these look great and work out at good value too.

I’m not really one for thie kind of humour, so to me this is the worst mug I have ever seen. Something more belonging to a scene in ‘Allo ‘Allo than anyone’s kitchen cupboard in 2008. But, I understand that some people may enjoy the prospect of supping their tea from a vulgar breast shaped mug. If this is your cup of tea, check it out at Amazon.co.uk - only £3.99 at time of writing.
