Starbucks Paris Collector Series Mug

April 9, 2008 on 8:49 am | By admin | In Cool, Culture | No Comments

I just got back from a short trip to France, having gone from Ebbsfleet to Paris, and of course picked up a Starbucks Paris mug as a souvenir from my travels. I didn’t actually have a Starbucks out there though as I kind of think its good to patronise the more traditional cafes and coffee shops.

Daily Politics Mug

March 19, 2008 on 5:21 am | By admin | In Culture, TV | No Comments

daily politics mugThe Daily Politics Mug is an item that is desired by many, and possessed by only a few, for it is only available to winners of a weekly competition on the BBC’s Daily Politics. Andrew Neil, possibly TV’s best host, gives it away to one lucky viewer who can “guess the year” and really bigs up the mug in his unique style. The mug almost entered into Daytime TV history when the BBC put a halt to all competitions following the phone in scandals that hit them, but the mug is available again on a Wednesday, albeit with a slew of terms and conditions.

If you want a Daily Politics mug, tune into the Daily Politics on BBC2 Wednesdays from 11.30 onwards.

4 Stackable Mugs from M&S

I really like the stackable mugs that Marks and Spencer are selling at the moment. They have about three different product lines, but today I’m just going to look at one: the Flower Spot Stacking Mugs. For £9.50, you get 4 mugs brightly coloured mugs which stack upon each other in the supplied stand - a great space saving idea. I think these look great and work out at good value too.

Breast/Booby Mug - Worst Mug Ever?

March 9, 2008 on 10:48 am | By admin | In Novelty | No Comments

I’m not really one for thie kind of humour, so to me this is the worst mug I have ever seen. Something more belonging to a scene in ‘Allo ‘Allo than anyone’s kitchen cupboard in 2008. But, I understand that some people may enjoy the prospect of supping their tea from a vulgar breast shaped mug. If this is your cup of tea, check it out at Amazon.co.uk - only £3.99 at time of writing.

Charlie and Lola are the children’s creations from the pen of Lauren Child. Successfully adapted for the small screen as a charming animated series, Charlie and Lola pay particular emphasis to the closeness between similarly aged siblings. The first Charlie and Lola story was titled, “I Will Not Ever Never Eat A Tomato”, and since there have been many more tales.

There are a fab range of mugs that feature Charlie and Lola, produced by McLaggan Smith, and available from Amazon.co.uk

My Mug - The Jamie Oliver Cosy Mug

March 9, 2008 on 6:54 am | By admin | In White | No Comments

Since I am writing a blog about mugs, I thought I would share with you what mug I actually use myself. I have a Jamie Olver Cosy mug, which I got in the sale at John Lewis. It’s generously sized (0.4L capacity) and has a nice wide handle which is easy to hold. It’s plain white, with a slight pattern on the side.

That’s my main mug. As well as that, I have 4 large glass mugs from Bodum which get a lot of use too.
